In this case a desktop and a laptop.<br /><br />Transparency will be important here since the user has a lot on their plate and doesnt need or want a lot of extra steps to remember.<br /><br />I will begin documenting the steps and products I use during the transition. Schedules<br />2. contacts<br />3. tasks<br />4. invoicing<br />5. actual files (personal or client related)<br />6. ephemeral data (bookmarks, login information for websites, etc.)<br /><br />The first 3 are easy. All you need to do is figure out the extent of mobility you need. <br /><br />1. Manage from a computer and carry it around with you on a device (Palm, Blackberry, etc,).<br />2. Manage from a computer and have access to the data via alternate methods of access (apps on a flash drive, online) <br />3. Manage and access your data from anywhere and on any computer or device.<br /><br />The other 3 require more thinking as to how you will access them and to what level. On a daily basis I travel from site to site helping people with their computer problems. I am also a developer of database solutions using Filemaker Pro.<br /><br />Well, I spend an enormous amount of time traveling throughout the city and I carry my data with me everywhere. A while ago decided to start decentralizing my data so that I didn't have to carry a notebook around all the time.<br /><br />Over the years I've used devices running PalmOS, Windows Mobile and currently Android.
